Tattoo Aftercare Instructions
Proper aftercare is essential to ensure your tattoo heals correctly and maintains its quality.
Cleaning your tattoo
- Gently wash the tattoo using lukewarm water and non-scented mild soap
- Use clean hands — do not use a washcloth or sponge
- Gently remove any ointment, blood, or plasma
- Air dry
Moisturizing
- Apply a VERY thin layer of coconut oil or artist recommended aftercare
- Use just enough to keep the tattoo from drying out — do not over apply
- Apply two times per day during healing
What to expect
During healing your tattoo may:
- Feel warm or slightly swollen
- Form light scabbing or peeling
- Itch as the skin heals
This is normal.
DO NOT
- Do not scratch or pick at your tattoo
- Do not soak your tattoo in water (no baths, pools, lakes, or hot tubs)
- Avoid heavy sun exposure or tanning while healing
- Avoid tight or abrasive clothing on the tattoo
- Avoid long hot showers and direct high-pressure water on the tattoo
Healing Time
- Most tattoos heal on the surface in 2–3 weeks
- Full healing beneath the skin can take 4–6 weeks
After Healing
- Always apply sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) to keep your tattoo vibrant
- Keeping skin moisturized helps maintain color and detail
Important
If you notice excessive redness, swelling, puss, or signs of infection, please consult a medical professional.
